Wessex Heritage Trust has been organising the Hampshire Oktoberfest for 10 years and each year the event has become bigger, better and has continually built on each years success. The original intention was to promote all the wonderful beers and foods that the great county of Hampshire has to offer. Now it is altogether much more and with a growing following will continue to grow for many years to come!
We have a successful track record of attracting funding, donations and corporate sponsorship to enable innovative projects and events to be developed, which offer a wide range of opportunities for businesses and individuals to make a difference. Wessex Heritage Trust (formerly the Hampshire Museums and Galleries Trust) was formed in 1991 to create support for museums within Hampshire. Since then the Trust has broadened its outreach support particularly to those vulnerable and disadvantaged Young People and also to the elderly who through circumstances cannot access the rich diversity of the regions cultural and heritage sites and homes. The Trust was rebranded to The Wessex Heritage Trust in 2015 becoming a greater region and creating more activities.
It has in the past supported the development of Winchester, Basingstoke and Gosport Discovery Centres and supported the refurbishment of the Willis Museum in Basingstoke through the creation of the Sainsbury Gallery. In 2007 the Trust launched the successful youth-led EDGE Project in Basingstoke, obtaining further funding to expand the project throughout the region.
The Wessex Heritage Trust covers – Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and parts of Sussex, Berkshire, Somerset and Devon.
The Hampshire’s Oktoberfest is a fundraising event for the registered charity The Wessex Heritage Trust number 1015271.
